The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Sherk circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sherk cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Piper darts in trying to clinch
and Sherk counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Piper moves out of range as Sherk strikes.
Piper throws a half hearted mid kick.
Sherk circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sherk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sherk lands a head shot.
Sherk misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Piper.
Piper throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Piper throws a lazy body kick
and Sherk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Piper tries to clinch but Sherk moves away
and Sherk counters with a nice uppercut.
Sherk sizes up Piper with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Piper slips under a jab.
Sherk misses with an uppercut
and Piper counters with an inside leg kick.
Sherk moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sherk misses with a right hand
and Piper counters with a good low kick that Sherk was not able to check.
A combination from Sherk does no damage.

Sherk lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Sherk misses the body punch
and Piper counters with a nice body kick.

Sherk throws a hook but Piper avoids it easily.
Piper tries a head kick but it misses.
Piper throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Sherk counters with a straight right hand.
Piper walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Piper shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Piper is rocked!
Sherk drops Piper with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Piper! Sherk dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
