PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bas Baluu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baluu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is If I ruled the world - Nas. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baluu throws a hook but Trent blocks it.
Baluu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Trent moves away.
Trent scores with a jab to the body.
Baluu rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Trent moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Baluu misses with a double jab.

and Trent makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Trent bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Baluu is fighting off a takedown attempt but Trent is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Baluu to the mat. Baluu regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Trent looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baluu with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Baluu is defending against the submission attempts here by Trent.
Trent throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Trent avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Trent sizes up Baluu with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Baluu lands a nice hook to Trent's body. Trent takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Baluu throws a series of punches but Trent moves out of range.
Trent connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Trent has picked Baluu up - he's going for a ride! Trent dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Trent pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Trent has hold of Baluu's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Baluu manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Trent has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Trent is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Baluu can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
