Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cassius Payne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Wiggin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Payne kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Bruddah Iz ~ E Ala E . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cassius Payne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Wiggin!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiggin tries to clinch
and Payne counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Payne scores with a takedown into Wiggin's guard.

Payne drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Payne jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Payne postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wiggin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Payne, into his guard.
Wiggin wants to pass the guard but Payne is keeping the position.

Payne is trying to keep Wiggin in close.

Wiggin wants to control from the top but Payne keeps moving.
Wiggin landing with the ground and pound.

Payne pulls Wiggin in close to prevent any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Payne is looking for a triangle but Wiggin pushes his legs off easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Wiggin wants to control from the top but Payne keeps moving.

Wiggin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Payne has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wiggin has managed to get both his arms back between Payne's legs - danger averted.

Payne thows a big elbow that misses.

Payne drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wiggin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wiggin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wiggin!
Payne is looking to regain half guard here but Wiggin keeps moving and retains side control.

Wiggin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wiggin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Payne manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Wiggin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Wiggin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Payne is wriggling around trying to escape.
Wiggin looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Wiggin goes for an armbar but Payne turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Payne.

Payne gets to his feet - Wiggin follows without any prompting.
Wiggin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wiggin misses with a head kick.

Payne shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wiggin's guard.

Payne advances to half guard.

Payne prevents Wiggin from standing back up.
Wiggin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Payne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Payne drops an elbow to the side of Wiggin's head.
Payne is trying to control. Wiggin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Payne is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Payne is working for a kimura but Wiggin is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Payne is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Payne winds up and cracks Wiggin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wiggin wants to control but Payne is keeping busy.

Wiggin is defending against the submission attempts here by Payne.

Payne stands up and beckons Wiggin to join him on the feet.

Payne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Wiggin tries to roll over but Payne keeps him under control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Payne thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wiggin's head.
Payne is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wiggin!

Wiggin tries to lock up and control but Payne gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Wiggin is bucking up trying to escape but Payne cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Payne shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Wiggin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Payne to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Wiggin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Payne is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Payne is looking to regain half guard here but Wiggin keeps moving and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Payne's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Payne wants to control but Wiggin is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Payne is looking for a sweep. Wiggin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Cassius Payne overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wiggin seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Wiggin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Payne's guard.

Cassius Payne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cassius Payne.
Well Payne has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
