Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eiji Kawashima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Falcao Chuteboxe!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chuteboxe has his takedown stuffed
enabling Kawashima to counter with a crisp jab.
Chuteboxe misses with a takedown attempt
and Kawashima counters with a straight right hand.
Kawashima fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Chuteboxe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Kawashima connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Eiji Kawashima has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Falcao Chuteboxe.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chuteboxe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kawashima counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Chuteboxe thinking.

Kawashima lands a slapping body shot.

Kawashima connects with a good right hand that stumbles Chuteboxe. Chuteboxe circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Chuteboxe closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Kawashima cracks Chuteboxe with a right hand to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kawashima lands a glancing blow to the side of Chuteboxe's head.
Kawashima stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Chuteboxe should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Kawashima scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Chuteboxe takes one to the chin there.
Chuteboxe takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Chuteboxe takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Chuteboxe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kawashima to score with a decent uppercut.
Chuteboxe on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Kawashima cracks Chuteboxe with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Kawashima has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Chuteboxe to stand back up!
Kawashima connects with a single shot there.

Kawashima drops Chuteboxe with a beautiful combination! Chuteboxe stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kawashima is looking for the KO!


Chuteboxe is rocked!


It looks like Falcao Chuteboxe has been cut.
Kawashima is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Kawashima's jab looks to have found its range, popping Chuteboxe under the eye.
Kawashima is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Chuteboxe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Kawashima takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Chuteboxe takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Chuteboxe is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kawashima is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Chuteboxe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kawashima jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Kawashima lands a nice looking body shot.
Chuteboxe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Kawashima bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Kawashima pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Chuteboxe back to the cage. Kawashima follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Chuteboxe takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Chuteboxe has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kawashima darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Chuteboxe has his takedown stuffed
and Kawashima cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Kawashima connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Jab, jab by Kawashima - just one landing.
Kawashima scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Kawashima is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Kawashima fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Chuteboxe might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kawashima has got the better of the exchanges.
Chuteboxe is breathing heavily.
Kawashima connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Nice uppercut lands for Kawashima. That snapped Chuteboxe's head back.

Kawashima uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Chuteboxe has time to react.
Kawashima scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kawashima's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kawashima duly obliges.
Chuteboxe is still on wobbly legs! Can Kawashima finish him?

Chuteboxe seems to have recovered his senses.

Kawashima lands with an overhand left.
Kawashima lands with a big left! Chuteboxe is wobbled badly! Kawashima comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Chuteboxe to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
