These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ichabod Crane!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jaromir Jag!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Sergei Dronov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crane throws a looping overhand right but Jag ducks down to avoid it.
Crane works over Jag's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Jaromir Jag has been cut.
Crane circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ichabod Crane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jag. That's going to slow Crane down.

Jag pushes Crane up against the cage in a clinch.
Jag looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Crane stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Jag wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Crane manages to break the clinch.

Jag has managed to clinch.
Jag wants to get back to striking at distance but Crane won't allow it.
Crane managing to block the knees to the body from Jag.
Crane's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Jag breaks the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Crane.
Jag is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jag fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crane misses with a hook.
Jag walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jag is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Crane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Crane swings for the body but Jag moves out of range.

Crane cracks Jag with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Jag looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Crane finish him?


Jag is rocked!
The fight stays on the outside here - Jag looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jag is still on wobbly legs! Can Crane finish him?
Crane looks to throw the jab but Jag is out of range.
Jag throws a sloppy head kick and Crane moves out of range easily.
Crane connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Jag to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Crane!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ichabod Crane!
Ichabod Crane is the new bantamweight champion!
