The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cooper shoots in and bounces Berger off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Cooper in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Cooper avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cooper postures up in Berger's guard and throws a big left but Berger blocks it.
Berger is trying to control the position but Cooper postures up.
Berger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cooper is one step ahead there.

Berger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooper's guard.

Berger forces his way into half guard.
Berger thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Cooper won't allow Berger to pass to mount.
Cooper is pressing down on Berger's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Berger stands up over Cooper, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Berger passes into half guard.
Berger looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Cooper is not content to let Berger control the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Berger takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Berger is taking a breather. Cooper says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
