Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Faction Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Warren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Warren's choice of entrance music: Caught Somewhere in Time -- Iron Maiden . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Faction Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lewis Warren!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Warren moves away.
Jackson swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Warren counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.


It looks like Faction Jackson has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jackson.

Warren closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Warren lands in his opponent's guard.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Warren has hold of Jackson's hands but Jackson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Jackson is trying to control. Warren wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jackson thows a huge punch but Warren dodges it nicely.
Jackson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Warren does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Warren's head.

Jackson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Warren knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Warren is defending well.

Jackson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Warren bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Faction Jackson just wasn't active enough.

That was a close round but I would say that Faction Jackson will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Warren counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Warren.
Faction Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Warren was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson.

and Jackson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Warren won't be happy with that.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

No joy there for Warren, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Warren throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Jackson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Warren counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Jackson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Warren counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jackson thinking.
Warren lands a nice hook to Jackson's body. Jackson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Warren works over Jackson's head and body with a nice combination.

and Warren counters with a lovely straight right hand!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Warren. Warren obviously looking to wear him down.

Jackson misses with a takedown
and Warren makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jackson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A slapping leg kick lands for Warren.
Warren goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Warren lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Warren takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Lewis Warren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


A slapping leg kick lands for Warren.
Warren throws a head kick that misses.
Jackson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Warren.
Jackson throws a predictable looking body shot
and Warren counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Warren has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Warren will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jackson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

and Jackson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Warren counters with a nice low kick that buckles Jackson's knee momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jackson gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Warren can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape.

Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Warren takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Jackson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Lewis Warren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Warren has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
