Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between QL Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pertti Peto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peto has chosen Sabaton - Talvisota as his entrance music. QL Hicks has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, QL Hicks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pertti Peto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peto fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hicks.
Peto looks to throw the jab but Hicks is out of range.
Pertti Peto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hicks blocks a head kick by Peto.
Peto tries a head kick but it misses.
Peto lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Peto with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hicks cracks the inside of Peto's front leg.
Hicks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peto moves away.

and Hicks counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hicks takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Peto moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hicks lands the left hand.
No joy there for Hicks, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hicks shoots in looking for a takedown. Peto tries to sprawl out of it but Hicks keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Peto is looking to slow Hicks down with leg kicks.
Peto throws a big shot that misses.

and Hicks counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Peto misses with a head kick.
Peto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Peto dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hicks. That did some damage!

Peto bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Peto throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Peto gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Peto creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hicks's defenses.
Hicks tries a body shot but Peto blocks it.
Peto breaks the clinch.
Peto misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hicks.
Peto tries to clinch up but Hicks circles away and keeps his distance.

enabling Hicks to counter with a crisp jab.
Peto throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hicks chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Peto can pounce on him.
Hicks tries to land a leg kick but Peto saw it coming and moves away.
Peto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hicks manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Hicks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Peto just misses with a punch to the body.
Hicks throws a predictable looking body shot
and Hicks takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Hicks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Peto jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Peto connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Peto fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hicks has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Peto scores with a kick to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Peto listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Hicks ducks right into an uppercut from Peto.
Hicks takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Hicks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Peto lands with a kick to the temple. Hicks shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Peto throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hicks.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Peto, as that shot connected.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pertti Peto dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Peto turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Pertti Peto seems to be getting the better of the standup.
A nice leg kick lands there from Peto.
Peto connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Peto cracks Hicks with a right hand to the side of the head.
Peto feints and then cracks Hicks's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hicks down.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Peto.
Hicks stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Peto.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Peto connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Hicks tumbling to the canvas! Peto pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Hicks was done - good stoppage!
