Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rip James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Doe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Ultimatum. Doe has chosen whatsername, and does she remember my name? as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Doe!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Rip James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

James is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

James is pressed up against the cage. Doe has hold of a leg and is looking to drag James down to the mat. James avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

James shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
James throwing strikes here but Doe is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

James swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Doe is now in James's guard. A big mistake from James there, giving up the dominant position!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now James is on top in guard.
James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
James tries to free his leg and advance position but Doe is retaining full guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as James accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Doe pulls James in close to his closed guard and prevents James from doing any damage or advancing position.

Doe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Jon Doe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
