Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harris comes to the cage accompanied by The Clash - Rock the Casbah. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Jerome Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Austin Powers!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Powers throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Harris misses with a hook.

Harris drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harris wants to pass the guard but Powers is keeping the position.
Harris wants to control from the top but Powers keeps moving.
Harris landing some decent shots from guard.
Powers wants to sweep here but Harris controlling him for the moment.
Harris with a flurry of punches that miss.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Powers swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Powers looking to control.
Harris trying to control but Powers is working from the bottom.
Harris throwing strikes from guard but Powers blocks nicely.
Harris wants to control from the top but Powers keeps moving.
Harris looking to pass the guard.
Harris trying to control but Powers is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Powers wants to stand up but Harris is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Powers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Harris swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Harris throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Powers counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Harris is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Powers misses with a looping left.
Harris throws a series of strikes that have Powers backpedaling.
Powers avoids the body shot from Harris.
Powers misses the shot to the body.
Powers tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Harris stuns Powers with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Harris gets a takedown into half guard.
Powers is trying to stand back up but Harris is controlling him
Harris not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Harris is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Powers sees it coming and defends easily.
Powers is trying to maintain the position but Harris is very close to passing his half guard.
Harris throwing shots but Powers is blocking nicely.
Powers is refusing to be controlled, as Harris sits in half guard.

Harris trying to control the pace.
Powers moves into full guard.
Powers is looking to stand up but Harris isn't so interested in that idea.
Harris tries to free his leg and advance position but Powers is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harris uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Powers.
Good standup being displayed there by Harris as he connects with a hook.
Powers just misses with a punch to the body.
Powers throws a shot to the body.

Harris feints and as Powers raises his hands in defense, Harris changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Powers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Powers pulls Harris in close to his closed guard and prevents Harris from doing any damage or advancing position.
Powers wants to control but Harris passes easily into half guard.

Powers trying to hold on to Harris's head to control him but Harris postures up.
Harris thows a huge punch but Powers dodges it nicely.
Powers trying to control from the bottom.
Harris is looking to take a break and control but Powers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Harris is looking to pass Powers's guard but actually Powers recovers to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Harris trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Powers manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Powers wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.
Harris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Powers's guard.
Powers working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Harris.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harris looking to pass the guard.
Harris forces his way into half guard.
Harris trying to control the action but Powers is working from the bottom.
Harris trying to mount his opponent but Powers defends it.
Harris stalling away here and it's allowed Powers to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but Powers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Powers wants to stand but Harris is controlling the position.
Harris stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Powers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Harris trying to control but Powers is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Harris is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Powers is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Powers has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Harris off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jerome Harris will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Harris connects with a body shot.
Harris swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Powers counters with a head kick. That will keep Harris thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Harris scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Harris swings widly with a right hand
and Powers counters with a low kick, right behind Harris 's knee.
Harris misses with a double jab
and Powers counters with a left to the body.
Harris avoids the body shot from Powers.
Powers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Harris to counter with a crisp jab.
Powers is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Harris rather than just go for the knockout.
Harris changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Powers tries to avoid it but Harris manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Powers to the ground. Powers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harris misses with an uppercut
and Powers counters with a nice low kick that buckles Harris's knee momentarily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Powers tries to clinch

and Harris counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Harris is looking to advance position but Powers has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Harris takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Powers lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Harris hang on?
Powers trying to control but Harris is having none of it.
Powers is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Powers raining down shots from the mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harris tries to hold on but Powers postures up.

Powers wants to finish this one by submission but Harris is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Powers.
Powers controlling from mount.
Powers thowing shots but they're missing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Powers with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Harris is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Harris slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Harris gets back to full guard.
Harris wants to sweep here but Powers controlling him for the moment.
Jerome Harris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Harris looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Harris looking to hit a scissor sweep but Powers is one step ahead there.
Powers throwing strikes from guard but Harris blocks nicely.
Powers wants to stand but Harris is controlling his posture from full guard.
Powers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Harris is trying to control the position from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Austin Powers.
I think Harris has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
