Ali's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, LL Cool J - Mama' Said Knock You Out. Hellson Ballswick acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ali shoots in but Ballswick avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Ali throws a jab but it's blocked by Ballswick.
Ali uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ballswick.

Ballswick drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ali gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Ballswick is trying to drag Ali to the mat but Ali just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hazan Ali has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hellson Ballswick.
Ballswick has Ali pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ali manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ballswick tries to pull guard but Ali holds him up against the cage and eventually Ballswick drops back down to his feet.

Ali will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ballswick up against the cage.

Ballswick tries to bum rush Ali with a series of wild strikes but Ali uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ballswick drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ali manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ballswick has Ali in his guard.

Ballswick has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ali can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
