Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rafal Ulatowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ulatowski comes to the cage accompanied by Boys Noize - Lava Lava . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rafal Ulatowski!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Maddox!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox shoots in looking for a takedown but Ulatowski manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maddox's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Maddox counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Ulatowski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ulatowski will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Ulatowski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maddox is just riding it out for now. Ulatowski eventually gives up the hold.

Rafal Ulatowski has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Maddox swings around for an armbar but Ulatowski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maddox's guard.

Maddox working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ulatowski doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ulatowski manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rafal Ulatowski will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Maddox is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ulatowski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ulatowski has escaped and now he's on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Maddox accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Maddox drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ulatowski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ulatowski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ulatowski!

That was a close round but Rafal Ulatowski did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
