The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fernandes, pushing him back against the ropes.
Fernandes tries to pull guard but Perez holds him up against the ropes and eventually Fernandes drops back down to his feet.
Fernandes misses with a hook to the ribs.
Perez lands an elbow inside that Fernandes shrugs off.

It looks like Alexander Fernandes has been cut.
Fernandes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Perez smiles and moves away.
Fernandes tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Perez moves into the clinch.
Perez looking to throw knees to the head but Fernandes is blocking nicely.
Perez blocks a body shot from Fernandes.
Fernandes has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Perez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Luis Alberto Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Fernandes.
Fernandes misses with a hook to the ribs.
Perez prevents Fernandes from breaking the clinch.

Fernandes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Perez walks away with a smile on his face. Fernandes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Fernandes closes the distance looking to clinch

and Perez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Perez.

Perez lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Fernandes tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Perez's elbow.
Perez lands a big knee to the head and Fernandes goes down! Perez pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
