Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Lee has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kuroda Atsushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Lee!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Atsushi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lee to the ground. Atsushi is now in Lee's guard.
Atsushi wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Atsushi controlling from the top position.
Atsushi is working Lee over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Atsushi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Atsushi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Atsushi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lee preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Atsushi throwing strikes but missing.
Atsushi trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Atsushi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Atsushi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lee can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Atsushi controls the pace.
Atsushi wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kuroda Atsushi.
Atsushi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Atsushi scores with a leg kick.
Atsushi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lee jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Atsushi wants to land a leg kick but Lee is out of range.

Atsushi gets a double leg takedown into Lee's guard.
Atsushi is looking to work some ground and pound but Lee has wrist control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee keeping moving, preventing Atsushi from controlling successfully.
Atsushi postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.

Atsushi trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom.
Lee utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Atsushi is pushing down on Lee's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lee is fighting to maintain full guard but Atsushi has managed to sneak the leg through.

Atsushi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lee is just riding it out for now. Atsushi eventually gives up the hold.

Atsushi tries to pass to full mount but Lee defends it.
Atsushi missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Atsushi throwing shots but Lee is blocking nicely.

Atsushi is trying to control. Lee wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Lee throws the kick towards the body but Atsushi avoids it.

Lee tries to land a front kick but Atsushi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Atsushi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Atsushi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Atsushi blocks a head kick by Lee.
Lee throws a head kick but Atsushi moves out of range.
Atsushi shoots in looking for a takedown but Lee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Atsushi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
A combination from Lee does no damage.
Lee cracks Atsushi with a good jab.
Dan Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick from Atsushi misses.
Atsushi tries for a takedown but Lee sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kuroda Atsushi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lee throws a head kick but Atsushi moves out of range.
Atsushi is looking to slow Lee down with leg kicks.
Atsushi avoids the body shot from Lee.

Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Atsushi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Atsushi tries to work over Lee's front leg with a kick but Lee checks it.
Lee is looking to slow Atsushi down with leg kicks.
Atsushi wants to land a leg kick but Lee is out of range.
Lee wants to clinch.
Lee connects with a leg kick. Atsushi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.
Atsushi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Lee stuffs the takedown.
Lee connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lee misses with a wild body shot.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lee misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Atsushi.
Atsushi tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lee just stands there and leans against the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee tries to circle away but Atsushi has him pinned against the cage.
Lee lands with a short shot to the head.
Atsushi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lee walks away with a smile on his face. Atsushi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Atsushi avoids a punch combination nicely.
Atsushi looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well.
Nice cross by Lee.
Dan Lee is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Atsushi shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well.
Atsushi shoots in but no luck this time.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lee goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Atsushi blocks a head kick by Lee.

Atsushi shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lee has closed the distance and engaged Atsushi in a clinch.

Lee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dan Lee seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lee lands a nice hook to Atsushi's body. Atsushi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Atsushi shoots in looking for a takedown but Lee manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Atsushi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Atsushi throws a low kick but Lee moves out of range easily.
Lee pulls out of a head kick attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dan Lee showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lee tries to clinch but Atsushi is having none of it.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Atsushi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Atsushi shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Atsushi takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Atsushi is looking to chop away at Lee's legs.
Atsushi tries for a takedown but Lee sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Lee is looking to clinch but Atsushi is avoiding it.
Lee tries to clinch up but Atsushi circles away and keeps his distance.

Atsushi shoots in and drives through. Lee sprawls well.
Sloppy strikes from Lee. Those never looked like landing.
Atsushi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Atsushi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Atsushi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lee's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Atsushi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Atsushi passes Lee's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Atsushi passes the guard and advances to mount!

Atsushi looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Atsushi punching from mount but Lee doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Atsushi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lee has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Atsushi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Atsushi throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Kuroda Atsushi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lee is squirming around, avoiding Atsushi's attempts to control the action.
Atsushi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Atsushi throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kuroda Atsushi showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Atsushi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
