PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Rolling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rolling comes to the cage accompanied by Jose Aldo - Can´t Be Stopped . The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Rolling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Trent!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rolling misses with a takedown
and Trent counters with a right hand to the body.
Trent misses the shot to the body.
Trent misses with a hook
letting Rolling counter with a right hand.
A looping hook to the body misses from Trent. Rolling does a little dance to reset his feet.
Trent throws a poor cross that misses

and Rolling counters with a nice double leg into side control. Trent won't be happy with that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rolling swings around for an armbar but Trent sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Rolling's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rolling looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Trent missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Rolling is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Trent is aware though and is defending well.
Trent postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Rolling working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Trent doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Trent manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Trent seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Trent is staying tight to Rolling's torso, preventing him from escaping.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Trent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Trent connects with a nice short shot to Rolling's temple.
Trent is nestled in close to Rolling, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rolling wants to get back to full guard.
Rolling is trying to maintain the position but Trent is very close to passing his half guard.
Trent winds up and cracks Rolling with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Trent dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Trent tries to bum rush Rolling with a series of wild strikes but Rolling uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Trent escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rolling gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rolling has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Trent manages to get to full guard.

Trent is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Trent wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Rolling is now in half guard.
Trent wants to control the action here but instead Rolling manages to pass to full mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Trent really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Trent manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Rolling will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Trent makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Rolling dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Trent looks to land a combination but Rolling avoids it well.

Trent throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rolling escapes and throws Trent's legs to the side, diving into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Trent is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rolling pulls his head out easily.
David Rolling overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Trent is holding on to half guard well.
Trent gets full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Rolling drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Trent dives on top into guard.

David Rolling showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Rolling has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
