Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alberto Diagana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gilmar Fonseca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Diagana might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Judas Priest - Painkiller. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gilmar Fonseca was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Alberto Diagana!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Gilmar Fonseca!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diagana tries to clinch but Fonseca moves out of range.
Fonseca misses with a takedown
and Diagana counters with a three punch combo that has Fonseca backing up. Fonseca nods at Diagana to acknowledge the strikes.
Diagana closes the distance looking to clinch
and Fonseca counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Diagana!
Fonseca has control of Diagana's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Diagana regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Fonseca wants to finish this one by submission but Diagana is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Fonseca.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Diagana is wriggling around trying to escape.

Fonseca swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Diagana is now in Fonseca's guard. A big mistake from Fonseca there, giving up the dominant position!
Diagana would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fonseca looking for a guillotine here but Diagana defends easily.

Fonseca bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diagana's guard.

Fonseca shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Diagana is looking to clinch but Fonseca is avoiding it.

and Fonseca decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Diagana's guard.

Fonseca might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Diagana kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Fonseca drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diagana manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fonseca has Diagana in his guard.

Diagana tries to stand but Fonseca is controlling from the bottom.
Diagana looking to sit in guard and control but Fonseca gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Fonseca sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Diagana's guard.
Fonseca is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diagana doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fonseca.

Fonseca lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Diagana down.

Fonseca goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Diagana has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Fonseca but great work by Diagana.

Gilmar Fonseca showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Fonseca is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Diagana rolls with it to try and escape but Fonseca cranks on the arm and Diagana is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
