Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Sobieski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Ardrizi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sobieski comes to the cage accompanied by Slav Wind. Marco Ardrizi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marco Ardrizi!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ardrizi throws a series of punches but Sobieski avoids them all with ease.
Sobieski moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Ardrizi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

A head kick lands from Sobieski that sends Ardrizi to the canvas. Ardrizi tries to scramble back to his feet but Sobieski brings him back down into side control.


It looks like Marco Ardrizi has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sobieski has the hooks in. Ardrizi is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Ardrizi is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Sobieski gets his way!

Sobieski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ardrizi.

Sobieski throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Ardrizi stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Sobieski follows into mount!
Sobieski is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ardrizi can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Sobieski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sobieski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ardrizi sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
