PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rumble Lord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ellis comes into the arena with his Ram Muay performance blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rumble Lord!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis misses with a kick to the body.

Lord shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Lord lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lord tries to free his leg and advance position but Ellis is retaining full guard.
Lord stands and throws Ellis's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lord lands a decent elbow from side control.
Lord cracks Ellis with an elbow. That is naaassty.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lord looks up at the clock and then as Ellis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lord smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Lord is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ellis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lord connects with a nice short shot to Ellis's temple.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lord content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Lord is nestled in close to Ellis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ellis is defending against the submission attempts here by Lord.
Ellis tries to kick Lord off but Lord keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lord is looking to take a break and control but Ellis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rumble Lord dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lord misses with a takedown attempt - Ellis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Lord takes one on the button.
Ellis connects with a single shot there.

Ellis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lord passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ellis tries to control but Lord manages to take his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lord is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Lord gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Lord gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Lord apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Lord closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ellis's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ellis wants to sweep but no luck.

Rumble Lord has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lord postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ellis.
Ellis throws a head kick but Lord moves out of range.
Ellis swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ellis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lord.

Lord shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ellis defends it nicely.
Ellis goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Ellis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Lord throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ellis tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lord is in Ellis's guard.

Ellis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lord is controlling him.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Lord lands a nice short elbow.

Rumble Lord is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rumble Lord comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lord winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
