Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robinson Hardink (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raphael Nero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robinson Hardink!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Raphael Nero!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nero circles away from the clinch attempt

and Nero counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nero.
Hardink is trying to stall.
Nero wants to get back to striking at distance but Hardink won't allow it.

Hardink breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hardink stuffs the takedown attempt from Nero. Nero gets slowly back to his feet.
Hardink throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nero misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Hardink counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hardink lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nero circles away quickly and effectively.

Nero clinches up with Hardink and pushes him back against the cage.

Nero drags the fight down to the ground.

Nero is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hardink won't allow Nero to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hardink trying to control the position from guard on top but Nero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nero wants to sweep here but Hardink controlling him for the moment.
Nero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hardink wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hardink pushes Nero off looking to stand but Nero dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nero controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Raphael Nero was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Nero throws a lazy head kick
and Hardink counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Nero is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Hardink fakes the leg kick and cracks Nero in the body.
Hardink swings for the body but Nero moves out of range.
Nero shoots in and drives through. Hardink sprawls well.
Hardink circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nero with a poor takedown
and Hardink counters with a left and a right that stings Nero.
Robinson Hardink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raphael Nero.
Hardink looks to clinch

and Nero counters by moving into the clinch.

Hardink breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hardink tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nero swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nero drives through and clinches with Hardink against the cage.
Hardink is trying to push Nero away but Nero has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Nero wants to get back to striking at distance but Hardink won't allow it.
Hardink has Nero pressed against the cage, preventing Nero from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Nero drags the fight down to the ground.

Nero manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Hardink lands a two punch combo.
Hardink catches Nero with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That kick from Hardink tenderised Nero's leg. Nero is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nero fails to land the takedown.
Hardink throws a sloppy head kick and Nero moves out of range easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nero throws a lazy head kick
and Hardink counters with a left and a right that stings Nero.
Raphael Nero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nero misses with a series of wild punches.
Nero tries to close the distance and clinch but Hardink swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nero walks into a left hand.
Horrible takedown by Nero or perhaps it was just good defense by Hardink which made him look bad.
Nero looks gassed!
Nero tries to clinch but Hardink is having none of it.
Nero swats away the attempt to clinch by Hardink.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sloppy strikes from Hardink. Those never looked like landing.
Hardink connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Nero's hands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robinson Hardink dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hardink lands a body shot.
Robinson Hardink is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Nero dives in and grabs Hardink's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hardink pushes down on Nero's head and hops out.
Nero moves forwards but Hardink connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hardink counters with a two punch combo.
Hardink misses with a few strikes there.
Hardink tries to bum rush Nero with a series of wild strikes but Nero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hardink paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Nero counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nero.

Nero jumps into guard, dragging Hardink to the mat.
Nero wants to sweep but no luck.

Hardink trying to control the position from guard on top but Nero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Nero has Hardink pulled in close to control his posture.
Nero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hardink manages to get himself to full guard.
Nero wants to control from the top but Hardink keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hardink is looking to stand up but Nero isn't so interested in that idea.
Hardink knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nero on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hardink throws a right and a left that both miss.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nero.
Robinson Hardink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raphael Nero.
Nero doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Hardink to counter with a crisp jab.
Hardink lands a glancing blow to the side of Nero's head.
Hardink digs a good body shot into Nero's ribs.

Nero rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Hardink counters by clinching up.

Nero gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Nero wants to work for an arm triangle but Hardink is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nero is breathing heavily.
Nero thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hardink wants to get back to full guard.
Nero not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hardink blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nero.
Nero is pressing down on Hardink's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hardink is holding on for now.

Hardink avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nero.
Nero seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Nero has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Robinson Hardink will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Hardink looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nero fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nero is looking to clinch.
Nero with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hardink counters with a nice uppercut.
Nero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hardink fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hardink stuffs the takedown attempt from Nero. Nero gets slowly back to his feet.
Robinson Hardink has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raphael Nero.
Nero fails with a takedown attempt.
Hardink throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Nero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hardink lands a leg kick that knocks Nero off balance momentarily.
Nero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hardink is fending him off so far but Nero persists. Nope, Hardink circles away and we're back to standing.
Robinson Hardink is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hardink lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hardink keeps the fight on the outside.
Hardink tries to clinch but Nero is having none of it.
Nero throws a poor cross that misses
and Hardink counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Hardink throws a series of punches but Nero moves out of range.
Nero takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Donk. Hardink catches Nero right on the button with a cross.
Hardink cracks the inside of Nero's front leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hardink lands a head shot.
Nero shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hardink slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Nero misses with a body shot
and Hardink makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hardink tests Nero's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nero takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hardink wants to clinch

and Nero counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Hardink!
Hardink tries to hold on but Nero postures up.
Hardink is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Nero working for a guillotine from mount but Hardink is in no mood to give up.
Nero looking to control but Hardink is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The referee warns Hardink that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nero controlling from the full mount.
Hardink blocking the ground and pound.
Hardink wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Nero.

Nero is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hardink swats away the attempt to clinch by Nero.
Raphael Nero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Robinson Hardink is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Nero thows a leg kick but Hardink checks it
and Hardink counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robinson Hardink showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hardink, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
