PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Krutcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Kauffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krutcher comes to the cage accompanied by Fun Things - Savage. Kauffman has chosen Queen- Another one bites the dust as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Krutcher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Kauffman!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kauffman throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kauffman throws a lazy body kick
and Krutcher counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Chad Kauffman has been cut.
Krutcher misses with a straight left.
Kauffman jabs at Krutcher's body.
Kauffman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kauffman thows a body shot but no joy.
Krutcher checks a leg kick nicely.
Kauffman digs a good hook to Krutcher's body.
Kauffman fails with the takedown
and Krutcher counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

and Kauffman counters with a nice uppercut.
Kauffman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Krutcher's sensitive parts.

and Krutcher counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Kauffman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Krutcher sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kauffman somewhat.
Kauffman throws a combination that misses
and Krutcher connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kauffman scores with the left hand. Krutcher knows he should have avoided that one.

Kauffman looks for the body kick but Krutcher saw that one coming.
Krutcher throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Kauffman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Krutcher's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kauffman stops Krutcher from standing up.
Kauffman wants to control from the top but Krutcher keeps moving.
Krutcher is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kauffman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Kauffman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Krutcher works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kauffman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Chad Kauffman.

Kauffman shoots in and gets a takedown into Krutcher's guard.
Krutcher keeping moving, preventing Kauffman from controlling successfully.
Kauffman with a flurry of punches that miss.

Kauffman trying to control the position from guard on top but Krutcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kauffman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Kauffman wants to control from the top but Krutcher keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Chad Kauffman was stalling too much, according to the referee.
A head kick by Krutcher misses
and Kauffman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Kauffman misses with a left hand
and Krutcher counters with a head kick. That will keep Kauffman thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kauffman looks to throw the jab but Krutcher is out of range.
Krutcher looks to land a right hand but Kauffman moved out of range.

Kauffman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Krutcher manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kauffman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Kauffman looking to sit in guard and control but Krutcher gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Kauffman manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Kauffman scores with a crisp jab that stopped Krutcher in his tracks.
Krutcher throws a lazy head kick
enabling Kauffman to counter with a crisp jab.
Kauffman steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Krutcher.
Krutcher walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kauffman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kauffman misses with a hook
and Krutcher counters with a thumping low kick.
A big right from Kauffman misses.

The fighters circle momentarily. Kauffman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kauffman thows a leg kick but Krutcher checks it
and Krutcher counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
A head kick by Krutcher misses
and Kauffman counters with a nice low kick that buckles Krutcher's knee momentarily.

and Krutcher counters with a big head kick but Kauffman shrugs it off.
Krutcher tries a head kick but it misses.
Kauffman throws a leg kick that is checked
and Krutcher counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

and Krutcher counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Kauffman takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Krutcher throws a hook but Kauffman avoids it easily.
Kauffman throws a shot to the body.
Krutcher tries a head kick but it misses.
Krutcher throws out a loose jab but Kauffman uses good head movement to avoid it.
Krutcher tries to land a front kick but Kauffman steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Krutcher bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

and Krutcher counters with a straight right hand.
Krutcher tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Krutcher slaps away a takedown attempt from Kauffman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kauffman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nice takedown defense from Krutcher. No joy for Kauffman on that attempt.
Jason Krutcher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Kauffman.
Krutcher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Krutcher throws a head kick that misses
enabling Kauffman to counter with a crisp jab.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kauffman's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Kauffman duly obliges.

and Kauffman counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Krutcher is lucky that one didn't land flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jason Krutcher will probably get the nod.

That's time! Krutcher's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Krutcher takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Kauffman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Krutcher manages to avoid it.

and Krutcher counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Kauffman is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Krutcher Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Kauffman is out cold, face down on the mat!
