The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dance throws a lazy right hand but Thomas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Thomas lands a body shot.
Thomas misses with an uppercut.
Thomas lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dance at a distance.
Dance thows a body shot but no joy.
Dance keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Thomas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Thomas connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Thomas swings for the body but Dance moves out of range.
Nice defenses there by Dance.
Thomas feints a jab promting Dance to slip. Thomas then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Dance slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dance. Thomas does a little dance to reset his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dance drives through with a takedown into guard.
Thomas seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Thomas swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dance.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dance throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Thomas lands a nice looking body shot.
Thomas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bill Dance. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jab, jab by Thomas - just one landing.
Dance misses with a hook to the body
and Thomas counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Dance is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Thomas's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

The fighters circle momentarily. Thomas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Thomas paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Dance closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Thomas throws out a loose jab but Dance uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dance uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.

Thomas misses with a hook. Dance ducked under it nicely.
Bill Dance seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dance thows a body shot but no joy.
Dance throws a looping overhand right but Thomas ducks down to avoid it.

and Thomas counters with a huge left! Dance is in big trouble! He's backing up but Thomas isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Dance from any more damage. A dominating finish by Thomas!
