The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson dives in and scores a takedown into Duran's guard.
Duran seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Duran is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Thompson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Duran tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thompson was well out of range. Poor timing from Duran.
Thompson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Duran finds it's way round the side to connect with Thompson's head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Thompson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Duran looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Duran looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Duran!

Thompson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duran circles away.

Good leg kick by Duran there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A looping hook to the body misses from Duran. Thompson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Thompson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Duran looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Duran manages to get back to half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thompson in particular looking to stall.
Thompson prevents Duran from improving his position.
Thompson wants to take a breather but Duran is having none of it.
Thompson wants to work for an arm triangle but Duran is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
