Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Mortis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dominic Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mortis's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Crush 'em by Megadeth. Vera has chosen call to prayer as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vera swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mortis counters with a good low kick that Vera was not able to check.
Vera misses with a lunging right hand
and Mortis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Vera thinking.
Mortis throws a series of strikes that have Vera backpedaling.

It looks like Dominic Vera has been cut.
Vera misses with a combination
and Mortis counters with a left and a right that stings Vera.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Mortis counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Vera looks gassed!
Vera fails with the takedown
and Mortis counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Dominic Vera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mortis moves into range and connects with a jab.
Mortis scores with a one two! Vera had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Vera lands with an overhand left.
Vera falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mortis counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mortis lands a head shot.
A head kick by Vera misses
enabling Mortis to counter with a crisp jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mortis rushes Vera with punches - Vera moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Vera goes down! Mortis follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
