Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Halpert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peppin Larter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larter has chosen Analiese as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Halpert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peppin Larter!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Halpert dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Larter staying out of range there.
Good exchange - Halpert coming out on top.
Halpert tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Larter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Larter scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Halpert throws the left hand but Larter avoids the punch easily.
Halpert takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Halpert dips to his left and cracks Larter with an uppercut!
Larter keeps the fight on the outside.
Larter shoots in looking for a takedown but Halpert manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Larter's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Halpert works Larter's body with a nice hook.

Larter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jim Halpert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peppin Larter.

and Halpert counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Larter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Halpert moves away.
Halpert tries to clinch there but Larter circles away.

Halpert wants to stand and escape but Larter is having none of it.
Larter is looking to work some ground and pound but Halpert has wrist control.
Halpert seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Halpert controls Larter momentarily but Larter frees himself.
Larter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jim Halpert wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Larter moves out of range of the strikes.

Larter throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Halpert stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Halpert throws a body punch but Larter moves out of range.

Larter drives through with a takedown into Halpert's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Peppin Larter has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

and Halpert makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Halpert throws a series of punches but Larter avoids them all with ease.

Halpert gets caught flat footed, as Larter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Larter tries to free his leg and advance position but Halpert is retaining full guard.

Larter's corner calls for a 1-2. Larter obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Halpert stuns Larter with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Larter throws an overhand right that lands on Halpert's shoulder, as Halpert tries to avoid the shot.
Halpert slaps away a takedown attempt from Larter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Halpert lands a lovely overhand right.
Larter avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Larter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Larter is looking to take a break and control but Halpert is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Larter looking to control but Halpert is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Halpert takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Halpert tries to hold on but Larter pushes him away.

Peppin Larter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Halpert is trying to control Larter's posture but Larter avoids it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Larter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Well, if Larter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Halpert throws a poor cross that misses
and Larter counters with a three punch combo that has Halpert backing up. Halpert nods at Larter to acknowledge the strikes.

Halpert shoots in and gets a takedown into Larter's guard.
Larter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Halpert working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Larter's head.

Larter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Halpert defends well.

Larter is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Halpert is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Larter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Larter has escaped and now he's on top!

I've got Larter winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
