PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Silik Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Tatum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hunt comes into the arena with London Calling blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Tatum!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt throws a low kick, looking for Tatum's leg but Tatum calmly moves out of range.
Tatum uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hunt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Hunt.
Tatum moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hunt misses the shot to the body.
Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silik Hunt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slow jab from Tatum misses its intended target.
Hunt clobbers Tatum with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Tatum tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
A jab from Hunt misses.
Tatum staying out of range there.
Hunt dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hunt misses with a body shot.
Hunt swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Hunt ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hunt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tatum.
Tatum ducks under a wild hook from Hunt.
Tatum shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunt tries to sprawl out of it but Tatum keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Hunt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Silik Hunt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hunt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hunt misses with a hook.
The fighters circling - Hunt throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hunt misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tatum.
Tatum shoots in but Hunt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tatum just misses with a punch to the body.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hunt throws the left hand but Tatum avoids the punch easily.
Tatum rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Hunt counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Tatum is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Horrible takedown by Tatum or perhaps it was just good defense by Hunt which made him look bad.
Silik Hunt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Tatum.
Hunt moves out of range of the strikes.
Hunt throws a hook but Tatum blocks it.
Hunt moves into range and connects with a jab.
Hunt ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Hunt thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hunt misses with a body shot.
Tatum misses with a takedown
and Hunt counters with a right hand to the body.

Tatum checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Hunt throws a shot from downtown. Tatum moves away and avoids it.
Tatum uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hunt.
Tatum takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hunt misses with a body shot.
Hunt misses with a wild body shot.
Hunt connects with a good right hand that stumbles Tatum. Tatum circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Hunt cracks Tatum with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hunt takes a swing at Tatum's ribcage but misses.
Hunt throws a lazy right hand but Tatum sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hunt cracks the inside of Tatum's front leg.
Hunt misses with the combination.
Hunt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tatum changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hunt tries to avoid it but Tatum manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hunt to the ground. Hunt escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hunt takes a swing at Tatum's ribcage but misses.
Hunt wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hunt attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Tatum shoots in for a takedown but Hunt shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hunt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hunt is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tatum.
Hunt lands a leg kick that knocks Tatum off balance momentarily.
Hunt dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hunt thumps Tatum with a low kick.
Hunt thows a body shot but no joy.
Tatum takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Nice takedown defense from Hunt. No joy for Tatum on that attempt.
Tatum shoots in but no luck this time.
Hunt throws a good cross that connects.
Hunt throws an overhand right that lands on Tatum's shoulder, as Tatum tries to avoid the shot.
Hunt lands with a straight right. Tatum didn't see that one coming.
Hunt fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Hunt works Tatum's body with a nice hook.
Hunt jabs Tatum right on the nose. Tatum blinks but takes it well.
Hunt misses the shot to the body.
Tatum slips a jab from Hunt.
Hunt scores with a body shot.
Hunt is looking to slow Tatum down with leg kicks.
Hunt cracks Tatum with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Hunt throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Tatum counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Tatum wants to pass the guard but Hunt is keeping the position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hunt is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tatum is controlling him.
Hunt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hunt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tatum's guard.

Hunt wants to stand but Tatum has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Tatum manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hunt manages to get himself to full guard.
Tatum forces his way into half guard.
Hunt tries to kick Tatum off but Tatum keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Tatum works his foot free and advances to mount.

Hunt has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Tatum working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Hunt is doing well to defend. Tatum seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Hunt is forced to tap and this one is over!
