Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Jaa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aj Smith!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa fails in his attempt to clinch.

Jaa moves into the clinch successfully.
Jaa prevents a takedown attempt there.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Jaa is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Smith is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Jaa lands an elbow inside that Smith shrugs off.
Smith jumps guard but Jaa stands there with Smith around his waist. Smith gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Tony Jaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aj Smith.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Jaa stops a takedown attempt from Smith.
Jaa lands an elbow inside.
Jaa gets underhooks to prevent Smith's takedown attempt.
Smith is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jaa takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Smith tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Smith tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jaa smiles and moves away.
Jaa stuffs the takedown.

Jaa has managed to clinch.

Smith is working for takedown but Jaa is calmly controlling the position for now.

Smith tries to pull guard but Jaa won't allow it.

Jaa creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Smith's defenses.

Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Jaa finish him?
Smith is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jaa has Smith pushed against the cage.
Smith fails to pull guard.
Smith takes an elbow to the forehead.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Jaa lands a big knee to the head and Smith goes down! Jaa pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Jaa!
