The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Harper takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Smith uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Harper.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Smith shoots in but Harper avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Smith scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Smith working the head and body with strikes.
Harper tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position.
Smith controls the position from side control.
Harper avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Smith.

Smith tries for a kimura but Harper is defending well.

Smith wants to control but Harper is keeping him busy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
