Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Remming (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Petrenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derrick Remming!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dmitry Petrenko!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrenko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Remming throws out the jab.
Remming tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Petrenko keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Petrenko thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Remming if he has to take too many more of those.
Petrenko avoids a kick to the body.

Petrenko lands a leg kick that knocks Remming off balance momentarily.
A swing and a miss from Petrenko.
Remming looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Petrenko misses with a body shot

and Remming counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Petrenko!
Remming throwing strikes but Petrenko bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
Petrenko pulls Remming in close to prevent any damage.

Petrenko is trying to keep Remming in close.
Remming loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Petrenko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Remming is working Petrenko over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Remming accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Petrenko is looking to stand up but Remming isn't so interested in that idea.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Petrenko holds on and takes a little breather.
Remming throwing strikes but missing.

Petrenko pulls Remming in close to prevent any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Dmitry Petrenko has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Petrenko steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Remming.
A nice leg kick lands there from Petrenko.

Petrenko moves away from the strike by Remming.
Remming throws a lazy head kick
and Petrenko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Petrenko moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Remming misses with the body kick
and Petrenko counters with a good low kick that Remming was not able to check.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dmitry Petrenko dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Horrible takedown by Remming or perhaps it was just good defense by Petrenko which made him look bad.

Remming shoots in and bounces Petrenko off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Remming postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Remming trying to control the position from guard on top but Petrenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Petrenko wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Remming thows a big elbow that misses.
Remming wants to control from the top but Petrenko keeps moving.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Remming missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Let's hope that Petrenko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dmitry Petrenko wasn't active enough on the ground.
Remming swings away with a body shot that misses
and Petrenko makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Remming misses with a head kick.
Dmitry Petrenko seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Petrenko is looking to land body kicks.
Remming pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Petrenko throws a nice outside leg kick.
Petrenko lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Petrenko fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Remming.
Petrenko scores with a nice right hand.
Remming stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Petrenko.

Remming uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Petrenko.
Remming throws a lazy head kick
and Remming takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Derrick Remming seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Remming wants to slow Petrenko down by chopping away at his legs.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Petrenko misses with a kick to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dmitry Petrenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Remming looks to land a left hand but Petrenko moved out of range nicely.
Petrenko lands with a thumping leg kick.
Petrenko throws a head kick that Remming semi-blocks.
Remming tries a head kick but it misses.
Petrenko's corner calls for a 1-2. Petrenko obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Petrenko lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Remming at a distance.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Petrenko keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Remming moves out of range of the strikes.
Dmitry Petrenko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Petrenko lands with a hook. Remming tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Remming fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Both fighters circling a little - Petrenko finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Petrenko circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Remming drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Petrenko follows Remming to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dmitry Petrenko!
