Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Iqbal Al Mamood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Uri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Mamood's entrance music is Mamute Pequenino. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Uri!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Mamood defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Uri.

Al Mamood looks to score with a jab to the body but Uri is just out of range.

Al Mamood jabs Uri to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Uri shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Al Mamood pinned against the cage. Al Mamood gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Al Mamood drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Uri tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Al Mamood slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Al Mamood in particular looking to stall.

Al Mamood moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Uri.
Al Mamood is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Uri will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Uri seems a little lost for a moment, as Al Mamood dominates the positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Al Mamood shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Uri defends it nicely.

Al Mamood comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Al Mamood seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Uri for as long as he can get away with.

Al Mamood takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
