Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Sobieski!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobieski is looking to slow Mathias down with leg kicks.
Mathias throws a right and a left that both miss.
Sobieski turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Sobieski connects with a high kick.
Sobieski takes one to the chin there.

Sobieski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Mathias is adopting a defensive guard.
Sobieski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Sobieski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mathias is keeping the position for now.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sobieski's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mathias avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sobieski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sobieski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mathias keeping moving, preventing Sobieski from controlling successfully.
Sobieski pushes down on Mathias's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Sobieski has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sobieski trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Mathias holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Sobieski tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Mathias on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mathias tries to get out of the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sobieski has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mathias's face.
Sobieski misses with a head shot.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mathias in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Sobieski thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mathias is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Sobieski working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Mathias looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Sobieski! Submission of the night perhaps?
