Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calico James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Sherman!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherman's corner calls for a 1-2. Sherman obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
James fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sherman avoids it really well and circles away.
Sherman misses with a low kick.
Sherman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
Sherman throws an overhand right that lands on James's shoulder, as James tries to avoid the shot.
James dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sherman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
James throws a looping overhand right but Sherman ducks down to avoid it.

Michael Sherman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

James connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sherman's hands.

James darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sherman tries to buck James off but James is having none of it.

Sherman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with James. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
James is working hard here to advance position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Calico James will probably get the nod.

Michael Sherman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
