The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puckley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Paniikki.
Paniikki looks for a takedown but Puckley sprawls well.

Beter Puckley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paniikki loads up on a big right hand but Puckley slips the punch.
Paniikki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Puckley tries to avoid it but Paniikki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Puckley to the ground. Puckley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Puckley misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Paniikki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

It looks like Pelle Paniikki has been cut.

Puckley moves into the clinch.
Paniikki has Puckley pressed against the cage, preventing Puckley from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Still in the clinch, Puckley scores with a nice short uppercut.
Paniikki fails to pull guard.
Beter Puckley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pelle Paniikki.

Puckley manages to break the clinch.

Paniikki is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Puckley defends it well.

Puckley tries to kick Paniikki off in order to stand up. Paniikki Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paniikki is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Puckley knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Puckley for a finish.
Well, with Paniikki on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Puckley is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
