The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Hans shoots and misses
and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Thomas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hans is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Thomas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Thomas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hans wants to stand and escape but Thomas is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Thomas wants to control from the top but Hans keeps moving.
Hans is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Thomas rolls with it to try and escape but Hans cranks on the arm and Thomas is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
