PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rmarkas Fletcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikola Tesla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fletcher comes into the arena with Keep on Lovin Me Baby by Colin James blaring out of the sound system. Tesla has chosen AC/DC's Thunderstruck as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Rmarkas Fletcher has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rmarkas Fletcher seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tesla throws a predictable looking body shot

and Fletcher counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fletcher.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Fletcher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tesla swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fletcher sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tesla's guard.
Fletcher wants to free his trapped foot but Tesla is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Tesla wants to stand and escape but Fletcher is having none of it.
Fletcher has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tesla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fletcher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fletcher passes Tesla's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tesla keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fletcher is trying to control the action in half guard but Tesla is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Tesla misses with a body kick.
Fletcher thows a body shot but no joy.
Tesla misses with a series of wild punches.
Tesla with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Fletcher just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice uppercut lands for Fletcher. That snapped Tesla's head back.
Fletcher scores with a hook.
Tesla has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tesla there as he acknowledges the shot.
Tesla throws a hook to the side of Fletcher's head but Fletcher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fletcher misses with a takedown attempt - Tesla sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Tesla uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Fletcher.

Fletcher takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tesla closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Fletcher shoots for a double leg takedown but Tesla sprawls well. He's pushed Fletcher's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rmarkas Fletcher. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tesla throws a right and a left that Fletcher avoids nicely.
Tesla fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fletcher manages to avoid it.

Rmarkas Fletcher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fletcher looks to throw the jab but Tesla is out of range.
Tesla throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fletcher stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Tesla swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tesla wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Tesla counters with a good, hard body kick but Fletcher shrugs it off.
Fletcher shoots in for a double leg but Tesla sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fletcher misses with a straight left.
Tesla lands a head kick. Fletcher smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Rmarkas Fletcher has been cut.
Both fighters circling a little - Tesla finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Oh Fletcher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tesla works Fletcher's body with a nice hook.
Tesla lands with a good body shot.
Tesla is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Fletcher rather than just go for the knockout.
Tesla lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Fletcher falls backwards - clearly groggy! Tesla dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
