PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Rojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Marabou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rojo tries a knee to the head but Marabou blocks it.

Rojo gets control of Marabou's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rojo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Let's hope that Marabou has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rojo stuns Marabou with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Rojo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marabou takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rojo works to advance to full mount. Marabou defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Marabou shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rojo sprawls well. Rojo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marabou gets slowly back to his feet.
Rojo clobbers Marabou with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Rojo tries to close the distance and clinch but Marabou swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Rojo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Marabou backwards.

Rojo has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Marabou uses from the top position.

Marabou slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Rojo escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marabou gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Marabou pushes Rojo off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rojo darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Rojo shoots in looking for a takedown. Marabou tries to sprawl out of it but Rojo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marabou manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
