PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pete Sproles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Lessard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sproles comes to the cage accompanied by can't be touched -Roy Jones Jr. The crowd seem to be enjoying Lessard's choice of entrance music: Dexter - Intruder. Junior Lessard told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sproles jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Lessard connects with an inside leg kick.
Pete Sproles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sproles. Lessard does a little dance to reset his feet.

Sproles moves in looking to clinch but Lessard pushes him off.

Lessard lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lessard dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lessard dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sproles. That did some damage!
Sproles is breathing heavily.

Sproles is looking to clinch but Lessard is avoiding it.
Sproles throws a nice looking combination but Lessard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lessard looks to land a body kick but Sproles moved away.
Junior Lessard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lessard lands a jab to Sproles's midsection.
A nice leg kick lands there from Lessard.
Sproles misses with a hook. Lessard ducked under it nicely.
Lessard throws a leg kick which misses Sproles's front leg but catches the back leg as Sproles tries to avoid it.
No joy there for Sproles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lessard stalks Sproles and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sproles's face. Sproles staggers backwards, shaken.

Lessard turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Lessard feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sproles's calf.
Lessard lands a jab to the head.

Oh Sproles is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lessard lands with a hook. Sproles tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Lessard lands with a nice body punch.
Sproles takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lessard lands with a thumping leg kick.
Lessard fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sproles has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Lessard lands with a big left! Sproles is wobbled badly! Lessard comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Sproles to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
