Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sakuraba Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is Gimme Shelter. A fine choice. Kelly has chosen R Kelly - Real talk as his entrance music. Rob Kelly is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sakuraba Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rob Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kelly dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gracie tries to clinch there but Kelly circles away.
Rob Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kelly sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Kelly keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gracie.
Gracie takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Gracie avoids the body shot from Kelly.
Kelly connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gracie. Gracie circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kelly ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Kelly dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gracie misses the shot to the body.
Kelly lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Kelly scores with a hook to the body. Gracie takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Kelly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kelly cracks Gracie with a right hand to the side of the head.
Gracie throws out a loose jab but Kelly uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kelly bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gracie's head.

Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Kelly takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gracie ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kelly moves away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gracie steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Kelly.
Kelly throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gracie sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Kelly uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Gracie.
Kelly is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Gracie had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Left hook, right uppercut from Kelly.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kelly jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Kelly lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


Gracie is rocked!
Gracie moves out of range as Kelly strikes.
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kelly lands a nice hook to Gracie's body. Gracie takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now.
A big right from Kelly misses.
Kelly throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it.
Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kelly cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Gracie throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Gracie has closed the distance and engaged Kelly in a clinch.
Kelly throws a punch but it's blocked by Gracie.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Kelly breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kelly scores with a punch to the head.
Kelly thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kelly looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kelly connects with a single shot there.
Kelly throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Kelly throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gracie slips under a jab from Kelly.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kelly scores with a jab to the jaw.
Kelly scores with a one two! Gracie had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Kelly dominated that round.

Kelly scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gracie doesn't seem bothered though.
Gracie lands a slapping body shot.
Kelly sizes up Gracie with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Kelly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gracie was well out of range. Poor timing from Kelly.

Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kelly to score with a decent uppercut.

A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Kelly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.

Gracie throws a sloppy head kick and Kelly moves out of range easily.
Kelly misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kelly but Kelly pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sakuraba Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kelly throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Gracie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gracie lands a nice looking body shot.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kelly manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Kelly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Kelly lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nice defenses there by Kelly.
Gracie looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Gracie goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Kelly connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Gracie dives in and grabs Kelly's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kelly pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Kelly keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kelly throws a left and a right that both miss

and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Kelly didn't expect that.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Kelly pulls Gracie in to control the position.
Kelly wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kelly manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.

Kelly wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Gracie working for a triangle but Kelly defends it easily.
Kelly is in close to Gracie's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Kelly got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kelly has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Kelly content to stall in guard here.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kelly defends it easily.
Kelly looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Gracie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kelly is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sakuraba Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rob Kelly.

Kelly lands the left hand.
Rob Kelly is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Kelly might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Rob Kelly comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
