Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Karl De Groot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimmo Kivipaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kivipaa has chosen Kivipää as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

De Groot's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

De Groot feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kivipaa's calf.

De Groot looks to land a right hand but Kivipaa moved out of range.

and De Groot counters with a good low kick that Kivipaa was not able to check.
Kivipaa takes a swing at De Groot's ribcage but misses.
Kivipaa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but De Groot circles away quickly and effectively.
Kivipaa walks into a straight right hand from De Groot.
Kivipaa is rocked!
De Groot dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kivipaa. That did some damage!
Kivipaa is still on wobbly legs! Can De Groot finish him?
De Groot throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

De Groot thuds a left hand into Kivipaa's body.

De Groot throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
De Groot throws a head kick but Kivipaa moves out of range.
De Groot throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Kivipaa wants to stay close but De Groot steps back to make room for something. Kivipaa seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from De Groot and Kivipaa drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Karl De Groot!
Karl De Groot retains his featherweight title!
