PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Herzog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vaughn Dez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herzog comes into the arena with Robert Tepper - No Easy Way Out blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dez misses with a takedown
and Herzog counters with a solid body kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dez crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Herzog - the referee stops the clock and Dez gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Herzog. Dez manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A head kick misses from Dez.
Dez fails with a takedown attempt.
Herzog ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dez moves away.
Dez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Herzog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Chris Herzog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vaughn Dez.
Herzog cracks Dez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Herzog moves into the clinch.
Dez tries to pull guard but Herzog won't allow it.
Herzog pushes Dez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dez takes a shot to the head.
Herzog prevents a takedown attempt there.
Herzog lands a left hand.
Dez tries to pull guard but Herzog won't allow it.
Dez looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Herzog pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Herzog with a jab.
Dez misses with a hook.
Dez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Herzog counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Dez can't find room to land a body shot as Herzog controls the action.
A body shot lands from Herzog.

Herzog breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fighters circle, before Herzog throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Dez's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Herzog lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
