The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Povetkin misses the body punch
and Blocko counters with a leg kick.
Blocko lands a leg kick that knocks Povetkin off balance momentarily.
Blocko drops his hands momentarily and Povetkin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Povetkin throws a push kick but Blocko slaps the foot to one side.

Blocko is pressing down on Povetkin's thigh, looking to free his foot. Povetkin is holding on for now.

That kick from Povetkin tenderised Blocko's leg. Blocko is trying to keep his angry face on.

Blocko shoots in and bounces Povetkin off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Blocko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Povetkin is trying to keep Blocko in close.

The referee asks Blocko politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Blocko prefers to stall for the moment though.

Povetkin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Povetkin is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sir Blocko.
Well Blocko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
