PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rija Zafy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Ferrigno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zafy comes to the cage accompanied by Welcome to the Jungle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferrigno throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Zafy.
Zafy throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A combination from Ferrigno does no damage.
Zafy lands with a good body shot.
Ferrigno dives in and grabs Zafy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zafy pushes down on Ferrigno's head and hops out.
Ferrigno lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Zafy enables Ferrigno to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Zafy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zafy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ferrigno wants to control from the top but Zafy keeps moving.
Zafy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ferrigno on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferrigno throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zafy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Ferrigno trying to control the position from guard on top but Zafy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Lou Ferrigno wasn't active enough on the ground.
Nice takedown defense from Zafy. No joy for Ferrigno on that attempt.
Ferrigno dives in and grabs Zafy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zafy pushes down on Ferrigno's head and hops out.
Rija Zafy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lou Ferrigno.
Ferrigno will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ferrigno goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Ferrigno shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zafy but Zafy pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Zafy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferrigno moves away.
Lou Ferrigno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zafy throws a body punch but Ferrigno moves out of range.

Ferrigno has a takedown stuffed.
Ferrigno shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Zafy as he avoids it easily.
Ferrigno looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ferrigno misses with a few strikes there.
Zafy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferrigno moves away.
Zafy takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Horrible takedown by Ferrigno or perhaps it was just good defense by Zafy which made him look bad.

Zafy connects with a jab.
Zafy misses with an uppercut. Ferrigno saw that one coming.
Ferrigno fails to land the takedown.
Zafy cracks a nice hook into Ferrigno's ribs.

Ferrigno takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Some wild striking there from Ferrigno.
Ferrigno avoids the body shot from Zafy.
Zafy fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Zafy looks to score with a jab to the body but Ferrigno is just out of range.
Ferrigno misses with a body punch
and Zafy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Zafy is looking to wear down Ferrigno with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zafy connects with a right hand. Ferrigno shakes it off.
Nice uppercut there from Zafy.
Zafy connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Zafy scores with a decent looking hook.

Zafy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ferrigno sprawling to the canvas! Ferrigno rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Zafy finish him?!

Ferrigno is rocked!

Zafy cracks Ferrigno with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ferrigno looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Zafy finish him?
Ferrigno is still on wobbly legs! Can Zafy finish him?
Ferrigno walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Zafy swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
