PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kai Gi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Stanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Stanson's choice of entrance music: Until The End. Brian Stanson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gi tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Stanson counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Gi lands a big head kick that sends Stanson tumbling to the mat! Gi takes a step backwards and waves Stanson back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Stanson is rocked!

It looks like Brian Stanson has been cut.

Gi instigates a clinch.
Stanson is still on wobbly legs! Can Gi finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gi landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Gi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Stanson has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Stanson is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gi pulls down on the head and he's put Stanson to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kai Gi!
