Williams comes to the cage accompanied by UFC: Closer to the Edge (Jared Leto). Simon Williams had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Lianenko!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a body punch but Lianenko moves out of range.
Lianenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Lianenko, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Williams doesn't manage to clinch there - Lianenko circles away.

Williams clinches.

Williams breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lianenko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Williams pushes Lianenko up against the cage in a clinch.
Lianenko has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Williams is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lianenko tries for a takedown. No joy.
Simon Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Lianenko.
Lianenko is working for takedown but Williams is calmly controlling the position for now.
Williams gets underhooks to prevent Lianenko's takedown attempt.

It looks like Fedor Lianenko has been cut.

Williams throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lianenkos head.
Lianenko wants a takedown but no success here.
Lianenko looks gassed!

Williams pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheers as Williams lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lianenko doesn't seem phased though.

Williams closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Williams gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Lianenko can't get the takedown.
Lianenko takes a knee right on the jaw!

That has opened up Fedor Lianenko's cut even more.

Williams throws 2 knees - Lianenko can't escape Williams's clinch. As Lianenko tries to escape again Williams whips his head left to meet with another knee! That's knocked out Lianenko's gum shield and as Lianenko falls to the floor, the referee steps in to end the fight!
