PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Greissi Jiorgite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Caschera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Caschera is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Crimson King by Demons & Wizards limited edition. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caschera closes the distance and clinches up with Jiorgite, looking for a takedown. Caschera pushes Jiorgite against the cage but Jiorgite circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

It looks like Greissi Jiorgite has been cut.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Caschera stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Caschera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Caschera looks to land a combination but Jiorgite avoids it well.
Caschera shoots in looking for a takedown. Jiorgite tries to sprawl out of it but Caschera keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jiorgite manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jiorgite tries to score a body lock takedown but Caschera shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A frustrated look appears on Caschera's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Caschera jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jiorgite walks away with a smile on his face. Caschera gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Greissi Jiorgite has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Caschera.

Jiorgite has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Caschera has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jiorgite uses from the top position.
Caschera thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jiorgite is pushing down on Caschera's leg trying to pass to half guard. Caschera is fighting to maintain full guard but Jiorgite has managed to sneak the leg through.
Jiorgite seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Caschera does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Caschera is looking to improve his position but Jiorgite isn't that keen on the idea.

Caschera reaches up and pulls Jiorgite towards him, trying to control the position. Jiorgite manages to get a guillotine from the mount though! This could be big trouble for Caschera! Caschera tries to roll over - now Jiorgite is on the bottom but the guillotine is really deep and Caschera has to tap out! Great work there by Jiorgite!
