Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benny Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flip Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kimura might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bloc Party - Flux. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Benny Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Flip Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marshall dodges the punch combination from Kimura.
Kimura misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Marshall.
Marshall shoots in for a takedown but Kimura shows good takedown defense.
Kimura throws a series of punches but Marshall avoids them all with ease.
Kimura ducks under a wild hook from Marshall.
Kimura tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Kimura scores with a nice head shot.
Kimura slips under a jab from Marshall.
Kimura changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Marshall throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kimura slaps away a takedown attempt from Marshall, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Marshall stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kimura.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marshall cracks Kimura with a big right hand but Kimura just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Good leg kick by Kimura there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Marshall holds on and takes a little breather.

Kimura has gone for a leg lock! Marshall slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kimura's guard.

Marshall uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kimura.

Kimura throws a chopping leg kick but Marshall manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Marshall dives in and grabs Kimura's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kimura pushes down on Marshall's head and hops out.

Benny Kimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Flip Marshall.

Marshall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Marshall postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Kimura has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Marshall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Flip Marshall is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Marshall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Marshall must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
