PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Shanks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shanks comes to the cage accompanied by Dethklok - The Cyborg Slayers. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawke looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Shanks gets tackled into the cage by Hawke. Hawke maintains the clinch.
Hawke looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A nice right hand lands inside from Shanks.
Shanks is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Hawke's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hawke drives through and clinches with Shanks against the cage.

Shanks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hawke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shanks to the mat! Shanks manages to get full guard.

Shanks gets tackled into the cage by Hawke. Hawke maintains the clinch.

Hawke shoots for a takedown but Shanks saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jeremy Hawke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hawke moves into the clinch successfully.
Hawke throws a punch but it's blocked by Shanks.
Hawke wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hawke is looking to control Shanks's arms but Shanks gets an underhook and turns him. Now Hawke has his back to the cage.

Shanks breaks the clinch.
Hawke throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Shanks scores with a shot to the body.
Hawke misses with a wild combination.

and Shanks counters with a crisp one two that drops Hawke! Shanks thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hawke to his feet! Hawke is in big trouble!

Shanks lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Hawke - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Shanks!
