Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korey Reid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Genki Dama!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reid tries to bum rush Dama with a series of wild strikes but Dama uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reid falls off balance throwing a combination

and Dama counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dama.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dama controlling from the top position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Dama's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Dama is fighting to break Reid's control of his arms but Reid is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Dama trying to control the position from guard on top but Reid is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Genki Dama has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Reid tests Dama's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Reid misses with the combination.
Dama throws the kick towards the body but Reid avoids it.
Reid misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Reid lands with a good body shot.
Dama drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Dama tries to land knees in the clinch but Reid avoids the damage to the body.

Dama gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Reid regains guard.
Dama wants to control from the top but Reid keeps moving.

Dama is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reid is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reid has escaped and now he's on top!

Reid slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Reid ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Reid scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Reid throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dama displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reid throws out the jab.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The fighters circle momentarily. Dama darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Reid lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dama circles away quickly and effectively.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reid throws a right hand that Dama ducks under and follows up with a left that Dama also avoids with ease.
Reid misses with a two punch combination.
Dama misses the jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Genki Dama dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dama tries to pull guard but Reid holds him up against the cage and eventually Dama drops back down to his feet.

Korey Reid has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genki Dama.
Reid wants to get back to striking at distance but Dama won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Reid crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Dama - the referee stops the clock and Reid gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Dama. Reid manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Dama gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Dama gets control of Reid's arms and successfully pulls guard. Dama will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Dama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Reid can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Reid knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dama on the ground.
Reid wants to control from the top but Dama keeps moving.

Reid wants to stand but Dama has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Reid tries to free his leg and advance position but Dama is retaining full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Korey Reid.

Genki Dama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Genki Dama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
