Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Raymond Matice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carver Cade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carver Cade will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raymond Matice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carver Cade!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matice shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cade defends it nicely.
Cade digs a good hook to Matice's body.
Matice moves out of range as Cade strikes.
Matice fails to land the takedown.
Cade throws out a loose jab but Matice uses good head movement to avoid it.
Matice throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cade sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Cade throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cade misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Matice.
Matice tries for a takedown but Cade circles away easily
and Cade counters with a thumping low kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raymond Matice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Matice fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cade throws a right hand that Matice ducks under and follows up with a left that Matice also avoids with ease.

Cade shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cade showed some decent athleticism there.
Matice on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Matice tries to get out of the position.

Cade content to control rather than advance.
Cade seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Cade slips a nice elbow through Matice's hands, connecting with Matice's forehead.
Matice wants to get back to full guard but Cade has mounted him!
Cade tries to control but Matice wriggling away.

Matice wants to control but Cade is having none of it.

Cade avoids the attempt from Matice to control.
Cade can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Matice is looking to escape.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cade breaks from Matice's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Cade scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Matice tries to hold on but Cade pushes him away.
Matice is desperately trying to improve his position but Cade has a good base and remains in mount.
Cade lands a heavy elbow.

Cade takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Oh Matice is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Matice is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Matice is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Cade looking to secure an arm triangle but Matice defends it well.

Matice is squirming around, avoiding Cade's attempts to control the action.
Matice seems to have got his legs back now.
Matice is trying to escape the mount.
Cade tries to control but Matice wriggling away.
Matice tries to lock up and control but Cade gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Cade throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Matice because Cade loaded up on that one.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Matice regains half guard.
Matice tries to kick Cade off but Cade keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Matice wants to control but Cade is keeping busy.
Matice wants to improve his position but Cade is controlling well.

Cade prevents Matice from improving his position.
Matice is working hard here to advance position.
Matice is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Cade thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cade throwing shots but Matice is blocking nicely.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Cade motions for Matice to come forward. Cade throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A punch combination from Cade misses.
A clash of legs there as Matice blocks the low kick.
Cade throws a low kick but Matice avoids it.
Cade lands a nice looking kick to the body. Matice takes a step back to recover.
Raymond Matice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Matice throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cade's waist but Cade gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Matice off to one side.
Matice shoots for a takedown but Cade saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Matice tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cade sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Matice somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Raymond Matice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cade misses with a looping right.
A swing and a miss from Cade.

Nice shot lands for Matice.
Cade with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Matice moves away from the strike by Cade.
Cade is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Matice.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Cade lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Matice has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Matice and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Cade scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Matice is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cade creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Matice sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
You can see the frustration on Matice's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Cade laying and praying for a moment but Matice takes advantage and regains half guard.
Cade wants to lay and pray for a moment but Matice keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cade looks to land a strike but Matice avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Cade lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Matice keeping moving, preventing Cade from controlling successfully.
Matice looking for a sweep. Not yet Matice, not yet.
Matice keeping full guard, as Cade tries to pass.
Matice is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Matice manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cade manages to get himself to full guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carver Cade.
Matice fails with a takedown attempt.
Cade throws a right hand that Matice ducks under and follows up with a left that Matice also avoids with ease.
Cade scores with a head kick. Matice tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Cade throws a sloppy head kick and Matice moves out of range easily.
Matice throws a big shot that misses.
Matice uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cade.
Cade throws a leg kick but Matice sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Cade fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Matice to the ground. Cade is now in Matice's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Matice is looking to stand up but Cade isn't so interested in that idea.
Cade passes into half guard.
Cade is pressing down on Matice's thigh, looking to free his foot. Matice is holding on for now.
Cade trying to control from half guard but Matice is working away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Matice makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Matice.
Cade working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Matice's head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cade throws a big right hand that misses.
Matice is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cade accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carver Cade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Raymond Matice's cut.
That's time! Matice's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Cade closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cade lands in his opponent's guard.
Cade postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Matice is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Matice is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cade in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cade is working Matice over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Matice looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Matice lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cade!
Matice thowing shots but they're missing.

Matice throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cade because Matice loaded up on that one.
Cade wants to hold on but Matice pushes him away.
Matice controlling his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Matice avoids the attempt from Cade to control.
Cade trying desperately to get to his feet.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cade regains half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cade avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Matice.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carver Cade hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Matice moves away from the strike by Cade.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Matice. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
A head kick misses from Cade.
Cade jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cade misses with the combination.
Cade throws a sloppy body shot

so Matice counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Carver Cade has got the better of the ground game so far.
Matice in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Cade wants to stand but Matice is controlling the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Matice is looking to work some ground and pound but Cade has wrist control.
Matice throws a big right hand that misses.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Carver Cade.
Cade misses with a straight left.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Matice misses with a takedown
and Cade connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Matice throws a series of punches but Cade avoids them all with ease.
Raymond Matice has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cade connects with a good right hand that stumbles Matice. Matice circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Raymond Matice.
Well Cade has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
