PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jasper Stride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pithe Canthropus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canthropus has chosen Pizzaman - Trippin' On Sunshine as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jasper Stride!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Pithe Canthropus!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stride swings for the body but Canthropus moves out of range.
Stride throws an off balance right hand
and Canthropus counters with a right hand to the body.
Stride closes the distance and lands a one-two.


It looks like Pithe Canthropus has been cut.
Canthropus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stride swivels and escapes.
Stride cracks a nice hook into Canthropus's ribs.
Canthropus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stride.
Stride shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Canthropus sprawls well. Canthropus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Stride gets slowly back to his feet.

Canthropus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stride gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Canthropus working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stride doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Canthropus is tightening it up a little... Stride has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Stride reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Stride taps out! Nice BJJ there by Canthropus!

Pithe Canthropus very nearly forgot to thank Tycoon Nutrition amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
