The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Itto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Silva takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Silva lands a nice leg kick that just misses Itto's sensitive parts.
Itto shoots in but no luck this time.
Silva throws a low kick but Itto moves out of range easily.
Silva moves in looking to clinch but Itto pushes him off.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Itto swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Itto swats away the attempt to clinch by Silva.
Silva takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Itto closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Silva wants to control but Itto is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Itto wants to pass to mount but Silva is defending the position.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Itto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Hernanes Silva hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Itto throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Silva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Itto is in Silva's guard.
Itto tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
Itto is pushing down on Silva's leg trying to pass to half guard. Silva is fighting to maintain full guard but Itto has managed to sneak the leg through.
Itto works his foot free and advances to mount.
Itto is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silva is surviving well by controlling Itto's body position as best he can.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Itto is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Silva to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Silva shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Itto is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Silva is in real trouble.
Itto is cranking Silva's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Silva! He's tightened the choke and Silva is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ogami Itto!
